Stan Manson

Stan Manson started as an engineer at WOKR not long after the studios were moved to Henrietta. He eventually became the assistant chief engineer to Clyde and his “office” was the engineering shop. When Clyde retired Stan became the chief engineer and worked in collaboration with Ted McWharf running the engineering department.

Stan was an extraordinarily intelligent person who had advanced engineering skills. Clyde was always presenting him with new and complex challenges to implement. His designs of operations made engineering jobs easier to accomplish. He custom designed many operational switches or button panels that allowed us to perform many advanced operations. He kept meticulous engineering records so that some of those records continue to be helpful even today.
