Ron DeFrance
Ron DeFrance was one of the first co-workers I met. Ron was the host for Bowling For Dollars which ran nightly at 7pm. WOKR had a bowling lane with theater seating behind the lane. The Rochester community loved this show and we always had a full audience for each show. Ron put folks at ease when he interviewed them, coaxing them to talk about themselves. One night I was sitting in the Garden Room, our lunch room, and Ron came in and sat down next to me to eat his dinner. He launched right into his interviewing mode and starting asking me all sorts of questions. He certainly made me feel very important! Ron had other announcing duties at the station and was well liked by all of us.

One Christmas, for the upcoming Christmas party, a blooper reel was made and the studio techs talked Ron into making a funny reel. Steve Sigelow and Jeff Chafitz went to the prop area and loaded Ron onto hand truck and brought him into the bowling studio to set him up for the Bowling for Dollars Show. We all loved Ron for his ability to always be cheerful and pleasant with every contestant. He demonstrates this nicely in this funny reel.
