Lou Volino
Lou started in engineering operations and quickly demonstrated his skills in maintenance and special projects. Stan began giving him projects in the evening and he was very successful. After Clyde retired and several engineering managers had left, Stan became chief engineer. Lou was made assistant chief engineer and took over Stan’s desk in the shop.

Lou’s skill at maintaining the transmitters was critical as we moved towards the conversion to digital broadcasting. Stan suddenly passed in 2008 and Lou was chosen to become the new chief engineer. Since then he has brought us through the most complicated transitions this station has had since we moved from downtown. He faced converting to digital transmissions and also changing the infrastructure of engineering and news to digital processing. We have been very successful with his leadership.
